A leading safety consultancy is seeking a Bid Estimator to join its growing team. In this role you will develop your skills while providing estimating support to the bid team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious bid estimator to join a rapidly growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
o Analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs
o Researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
o Analysing data that can affect costs (such as currency exchange rates and the company's productivity rates)
o Assessing the financial, technical and operational risks of the project
o Visiting project sites to gather information
o Staying aware of the latest construction technologies
o Keeping up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements
o Inputting into decisions over whether to bid for the project
o Liaising with Pre-Construction managers to accurately document pricing strategies
Required Skills / Experience:
o Good working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook Etc.)
o Good communication, calculation & literacy skills
o Good time management and ability to cope with pressure and manage own workload and work to deadlines.
o Willingness to learn, act with integrity and work as a team player.
o Confidence in making outgoing phone calls to suppliers and clients
o Full UK Drivers Licence
