Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will manage financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry-specific standards. This role is critical in supporting our client's continued growth and delivering financial insight for effective decision-making.
This is a temporary contract role that will be required for up to 3 months.
Accountant - 3 Month Contract
Benefits:
- Day rate equivalent of up to 70,000
Accountant - 3 Month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and management accounts.
- Oversee project costing, ensuring correct allocation of expenses to construction projects.
- Maintain VAT, CIS, and payroll compliance.
- Liaise with project managers to monitor financial performance and cost tracking.
- Handle monthly cash flow forecasting and variance analysis.
- Provide financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and statutory accounts.
Accountant - 3 Month Contract
Required Experience & Skills:
- Essential: Previous accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or part-qualified with significant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and VAT within construction.
- Excellent skills in financial software (Sage/QuickBooks or similar) and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
Desirable:
- Experience with project-based accounting and cost management.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and sub-contractor accounting.
