- Degree in Food Tech/Safety essential.
- HACCP/SALSA accreditation.
- Develop and maintain food safety protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and document food safety practices, including cleanliness and sanitation.
- Conduct routine inspections/audits of the bakery to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist in training staff on food safety practices and procedures.
- Manage the Raw material and supplier approval system.
- Maintain and update raw material specification and supplier certification and SAQs.
- Investigate any major supplier raw material non-compliance – escalate any serious concerns with relevant suppliers.
- Collect and analyse samples for microbiological and chemical testing.
- Lead on product testing and sampling schedule as well and environmental monitoring system and support the investigation of any out of specification results.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain site technical KPI data and collate information for weekly and monthly KPI reports.
- Implementation of HACCP, SALSA, and other food safety management systems.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in food safety regulations and standards.
- Creating product specifications, allergen and nutritional information and providing necessary technical information to our customers.
- Work closely with the NPD team, undertaking shelf life validation testing and analysis and signing off product labels.
- Manage documentation and record keeping.
- Take part in internal product panel sessions and action points.
- Must hold a Food Science Degree.
- Must possess experience within Food manufacturing.
- Experience in frozen and ambient products
