Spray / Plating Technician required for an eyewear manufacturer based in Brentford. The candidate must have significant experience working in a surface plating role. In particular spray painting and water plating. Ideally both but significant experience in one of these will still be considered.
The company is producing high end luxury bespoke eyewear and each frame must be hand sprayed to order. The company is also running a water plating line for 18k gold and Palladium frames. In the near future they plan to open an electroplating line for titanium frames.
This role has limited ability to train the candidates in this area as it is a new part of the manufacturing process which is currently outsourced, so the candidate must have prior experience in either hand spraying or water based plating.
Spray / Plating Technician Position Overview
- Clean, sand, and mask eyewear components to prepare them for painting or plating.
- Ensure all surfaces are free from contaminants and defects prior to coating.
- Mix and apply paint coatings using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats as required, ensuring even coverage and high-quality finishes.
- Maintain and operate spray booths, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate plating equipment to apply metallic coatings (e.g., gold, silver, nickel) to eyewear components.
- Monitor and adjust plating baths and solutions to ensure optimal conditions for coating.
- Inspect finished products for uniformity, thickness, and adherence to quality standards.

Spray / Plating Technician Position Remuneration
- Salary between £40,000 - £45,000
