Finance Controller
  • Location: ESSEX UK with oversight of German  facility on site in Germany.

We are seeking a Finance Controller to ensure the financial accuracy of our business operations across the UK and Germany. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will drive improved financial performance, lead best practice process changes, and ensure compliance with financial controls aligned to UK, US, and International standards.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Oversee all income and expenditure, including authorizing transactions and maintaining compliance with authority levels.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, cash collection, and payment of supplier invoices.
  • Lead internal reporting, ensuring financial statements are prepared accurately and submitted on time.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and financial reporting to showcase operational and financial performance.
  • Conduct regular management reviews of financial results, explaining variances, and leading improvement initiatives.
  • Control all financial aspects of asset management and capital expenditure projects, ensuring adherence to group procedures.
  • Engage in financial planning and forecasting, working with the leadership team to define annual budgets and future income/expenditure forecasts.
  • Manage taxation, duties, grants, R&D claims, and research funding, ensuring compliance with HMRC and international trade procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related area.
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field, with preference for automotive segment experience and plant finance operations.
  • Strong foundation in accounting for accurate financial reporting.
  • German language desirable 
  • Experience leading and mentoring staff.
  • Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Effective time management and ability to work in a diverse, growing business.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP, GAAP, and IAS reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with international operations and teams.
  • Payroll Experience 
  • Passport useful as occasional travel to European Operational sites required
