Classroom Assistant

Classroom Assistants play a key role in creating supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. By working alongside teachers, you help to ensure every child gets the attention, encouragement, and assistance they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

At Engage Education, we’re proud to work in partnership with a number of fantastic primary schools in Havering, and we’re currently recruiting Classroom Assistants to join our team from after Easter 2025, with opportunities for long-term placements extending into the 2025/2026 academic year.

About the role:As a Classroom Assistant, you’ll support teachers across the full school day, helping with lesson preparation, classroom management, and individual support for pupils who may need extra guidance. You’ll work across a range of subjects and year groups, gaining valuable hands-on experience within a welcoming school environment.

This is an ideal role for those with a passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young learners.

What do I need?

• Experience working with children (in a school or other setting)
• A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A willingness to support pupils with varying needs, including SEN
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
