We are exclusively partnering with a well established solicitors practice in Epping, Essex.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Finance manager to oversee their day to day finance operations in house.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years experience working for solicitors practices or legal firms within the finance function. A clear understanding of Legal compliance and Solicitors accounts rules (SAR's).

Ideally AAT Qualified or Finalist on ACCA.

Key Requirements:


  • Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants.
  • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
  • Prepare detailed reports on the company's financial performance.
  • Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets.
  • Ensure legality and compliance in all financial functions, including compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
  • Produce timely and detailed monthly management accounts.
  • Manage the preparation of the company's budget.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to the company directors to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports

  • Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Finance manager for a similar sized solicitors practise or legal firm.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, at least intermediate level.
  • Strong understanding of accounting software's such as XERO, Sage and Quickbooks
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes, including a solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Qualification in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or relevant field is preferable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
