Job Title: Leasehold Officer

Location: Brentwood (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Hours per Week: 37.00

Rate: £17 (Umbrella)

Brentwood Borough Council are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Leasehold Officer to manage leaseholder service charges, major works, shared ownership properties, and Right to Buy applications, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with housing legislation.

Main Duties:

  • Administer and manage leaseholder service charges, major works, shared ownership accounts, and other leasehold services income.
  • Issue Section 20 notices for major works in accordance with legislation and provide necessary consultation documentation.
  • Monitor income collection, pursue outstanding debts, and take appropriate action as per leasehold policies.
  • Handle leaseholder applications, including responding to queries, processing Right to Buy requests, and liaising with the Council's legal services team.

The Candidate:

  • Strong knowledge of leasehold legislation, including service charges, major works, and arrears management.
  • Experience in customer service and dealing with leaseholders, residents, and external agencies.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and property management systems such as Orchard or Locata.
