PGCE Computer Science Teacher - Independent School

We are currently seeking a Computer Science graduate to join a high-performing independent through school in Essex from January 2025. The school are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to teach Computer Science in their prestigious school.

The incoming graduate will begin as an unqualified teacher for two terms, followed by enrolment in a PGCE program starting in September 2025. The school would pay the PGCE fees.

This role is initially offered as a five-term fixed-term contract, with the possibility of consideration for any permanent vacancies that arise in September 2026. Priority would be given to the incumbent for such opportunities. Additionally, subsidised accommodation is available for candidates who are relocating to the area.

The school is an excellent place to work and extremely well-located.Their large site with picturesque grounds and state-of-the-art facilities makes a wonderful and inspiring learning and working environment.

Requirements:

  • The role can be viable for PGCE, ECT1 or an ECT2
  • Experience with C#, JavaScript and Java (rather than Python)
  • Be a dynamic communicator, with a demonstrable enthusiasm for the subject
  • Have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Possess a good sense of humour, and an ethical approach to working with others.
