Plant Supervisor - WASTE MANAGEMENT

To effectively manage all personnel and processing operations ensuring that production and quality targets are satisfied.

  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety practices
  • Hold an IOSH managing safely certificate
  • Hold a First Aiders certificate
  • Hold a Fire Awareness certificate
  • Hold a current FLT license
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability work manage multiple workloads simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Have a good understanding of the 5s culture

OVERVIEW:

  • Carry out regular checks throughout the shift on plant m/c's, running speeds/flow rates, personnel, processed product, waste streams and safety. Any issues found should be acted upon and reported accordingly.
  • Complete various inductions, H&S permits and lock and tag procedure paperwork as required.
  • Make sure Time & Attendance is recorded as required at the start and end of every shift and that any changes during shifts are reported in the correct way.
  • Report any quality issues using the relevant paperwork as identified in the company SOP's & SWP's or as required by the Quality Manager.
  • Report any maintenance issues using the T Card & CMMS procedures. Also make sure that any issues that require further information or need more immediate attention are reported and dealt with as quickly and effectively as is necessary.
  • Report any faults, damage or H&S issues as appropriate, making sure that any photographs or investigations that may need to be carried out are completed and reports communicated to all concerned.
  • Liaise with management, maintenance and quality personnel as appropriate.
  • Look to Continuously Improve all areas of production, plant and procedures.
  • Make sure any parts used are booked out and reported in the correct manner prior to leaving site at the end of every shift.
  • Make sure all internal waste streams are monitored and recorded accurately as required throughout the shift.
  • Operate the company FLT as required.
  • Carry out any other quality tests as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by business needs that are within your capabilities.
  • To assist Maintenance during plant downtimes making sure you are either supervised or fully conversant with the task requirements and safety needs
  • To make sure all company SOP's and SWP's are adhered to at all times.
  • Assist the management team with reviewing the SOP's and SWP's when required.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal processes and procedures at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members to ensure work is being carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
