We are currently recruiting for an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer on behalf of our public sector client based in Brentwood, Essex.

The successful applicant will have a knowledge and understanding of Community Safety, Housing & Anti-Social Behaviour.

This is a temporary contract initially for 3-6 months with view for further extension thereafter. The hourly rate is 19.07 per hour PAYE or 24 per hour Umbrella.

Key Duties

  • To ensure an appropriate and focused response to anti-social behaviour and other breaches of tenancy conditions.
  • To assess a customer's circumstances and to liaise with all appropriate agencies such as Police, Social Services, CHMT, Job Centre, Benefits, Citizens Advice Bureau etc. to ensure tenancy sustainment
  • To deal with day-to-day ASB enquiries; follow complaints through to completion, research and resolve ASB cases, supporting residents where relevant and seeking advice as necessary
  • To lead on the preparation, delivery and management of the Community Safety Partnership including designing and commissioning appropriate projects to meet local needs such as seeking referrals, liaising with key partners, marketing, communication and facilitating delivery
  • To provide clear and effective leadership and collaborative management for the community safety agenda across the organisation, working closely with Elected Members and senior officers across the service areas to ensure the fulfilment of the organisation's statutory obligations under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014
  • To provide advice and guidance about community safety policies and proposals, and to liaise with other council departments, external agencies and other partnerships regarding the community safety needs of the organisation
  • To ensure the effective strategic and operational coordination of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and management of its funding and programmes of activity
  • To represent the council in key Partnerships such as the Community Safety Partnership and Essex Community Safety Network Executive, working closely with key partners in coordinating a strategic approach to all community safety issues
  • To work with internal and external partners to develop an early intervention framework that improves opportunities and outcomes for people at risk of offending including early intervention initiatives
  • To utilise the effectiveness of social media channels to increase community engagement and participation and raise awareness of key community safety issues
  • To oversee the production of a regular enforcement newsletter to include crime data, news stories and articles from partner agencies and distribute to Members, partners, Parish Councils, schools and residents
  • To maintain accurate written and digital records of progress and outcomes for all casework and competently use computerised technology
  • To be an active and willing member of the Estate Management team

Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Community Safety, Housing & Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Experience of delivery community projects and events
  • Experience of working with community groups and organisations
  • Experience with dedicated ABS systems
  • Experience of developing multi-agency working and shared action plans
