We are working with an outstanding school in a lovely area of Grays. The school is easily accessible by car or public transport and offers onsite parking for all staff.

We are offering a long term contract from November but a permanent contract will be offered to the right candidate. The head of this school strongly believes in championing not only their students, but also their staff, that's why this teaching assistant role comes with potential schools direct opportunities where you can develop and train onsite as a teacher.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is looking to begin their career in teaching and wants to gain valuable experience.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be willing to go above and beyond for the students
  • Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties (preferred but not essential)
  • Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
  • Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
  • Must be able to relate well to young people and adults and have some understanding of the range of needs of young people with learning difficulties

Key responsibilities within the role:

  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, and implement related personal programmes (must be comfortable taking both girls and boys to the toilet)
  • Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
  • Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
