An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join a specialist Post-16 provision in Havering, supporting young people with additional needs in developing essential life skills and communication abilities. This small, nurturing setting caters for just 15 students, providing highly personalised 1:1 and small-group interventions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering targeted speech, language, and communication support, helping students build confidence, independence, and functional communication skills to prepare for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:-
Assess and deliver individualised speech and language therapy interventions on a 1:1 and small-group basis.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals to ensure integrated and holistic communication support.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance functional communication, social interaction, and independent living skills.

Contribute to and review EHCP targets, ensuring therapy aligns with each student’s needs and progress.

Provide training and guidance to staff, embedding effective communication strategies within the learning environment.

Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, empowering students to develop their communication skills with confidence.

A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification (Degree or MSc in SaLT).

HCPC and RCSLT registration (essential).

Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a Post-16 or educational setting.

A strong understanding of AAC, social communication strategies, and language development.
