An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Payroll Team within a Centre of Expertise, responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes. This role involves ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple divisions, handling executive payroll administration, and managing share scheme administration. The position also requires strong customer service skills to support queries via telephone and email in a professional and proactive manner.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full payroll process for multiple divisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll accounts with HMRC, investigating discrepancies and managing third-party remittances.
  • Provide expertise on complex payroll queries and escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations for Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental Leave, and Sick Pay.
  • Oversee the P11D & P60 processes and handle related queries.
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding tax and national insurance matters, fostering strong working relationships.
  • Administer payroll-related contractual processes for executive populations.
  • Manage and deliver share scheme administration across divisions.
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements, working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes, advising the leadership team on potential impacts.
  • Support change request processes, including testing and compliance validation.
  • Participate in payroll-related projects, understanding client needs and operational impacts.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience working in a payroll environment.
  • Proficiency in computerised payroll systems (SAP or Workday knowledge is desirable).
  • Understanding of PAYE, SMP, SPP, SSP, student loans, pensions, and other deductions.
  • Proven customer service skills, both verbal and written.


Qualifications:

  • A recognised payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP) is desirable.
  • A Levels or higher qualifications are advantageous.
