Robert Half is working on behalf of a thriving small business in Bridgend to recruit an Accountant. This is a hands-on role in a close-knit team, where you'll oversee and manage the business's finance function. This position is perfect for someone with small business experience who thrives in a practical and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Preparation: Preparation and review of statutory and management accounts.
  • Tax Compliance: Preparation and review of tax computations and returns.
  • Client Management: Acting as the main point of contact for an array of external clients.
  • Payroll Assistance: Providing accurate data for payroll purposes.
  • Team Oversight: Reviewing and providing guidance on work prepared by junior staff.
  • Workload Management: Managing your own workload, billing, and supporting the accounts assistant to exceed expectations.
Experience Required
  • Qualifications: AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE).
  • Experience: Proven background in a small business environment.
  • Software Skills: Working knowledge of QuickBooks is desirable.
  • Leadership: Experience reviewing work prepared by junior staff, with a supportive approach.
  • Personality Fit: Adaptable to a fast-paced, no-frills work setting with a practical mindset.

Additional information:

  • Hours: 8am to 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break
  • Holidays: 20 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing to 25 days + BH after 3 years of service
