Role: Legal Assistant - Conveyancing Location: Cardiff Salary: £23,000 - £26,000 Experience: 2 years in a conveyancing department  The Opportunity  My client, a leading law firm, is expanding with the opening of a new office in Cardiff and is seeking talented professionals to join their team. Known for putting clients at the forefront of everything they do, this firm prides itself on simplifying legal matters—whether straightforward or complex—and providing clear, practical advice to ensure the best outcomes.The firm offers expertise across a range of legal areas, including housing and property, family law, wills and probate, employment, and litigation. They also have a strong commercial law department, providing legal services to businesses. With a team of over 400 professionals across 14 offices, this firm has the resources, knowledge, and experience to handle all your legal needs.Key Responsibilities: As part of the new Cardiff team, you will provide comprehensive support to solicitors, enabling them to work efficiently. This will involve drafting correspondence using the firm's case management system, interacting with clients in person and over the phone, and managing the firm's filing system, including opening, closing, and retrieving client files. You will also handle document preparation, diary management, photocopying, and scanning, as well as transcribing dictations. Managing routine client correspondence and inquiries will also form part of your role, along with any additional duties required.Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will have extensive experience in residential conveyancing and be able to demonstrate initiative when conducting searches and completing ID checks. A high level of accuracy and speed is essential, particularly in audio typing from dictation.
