Overview
Carter Rolan Group are recruiting for a permanent Transport Manager for a reputable manufacturing business based in South Wales (Bridgend). This role is paying a negotiable salary of circa £38 - £45k+ (will consider dependant on experience and background). This is a Monday to Friday role on site.

Your new Transport Manager role
As a Transport Manager your primary focus will be on the moving of goods from one location to another. You will be responsible for planning and supervising shipments, scheduling routes, tracking orders and ensuring storage and distribution of products.

You will monitor transportation costs, maintain records and ensure compliance with shipping regulations. You will be responsible for the development, performance and maintenance of all of the organisations transport to produce an efficient transport service, maximising service, performance, value and profitability against pre-agreed targets.

  • Manage the drivers & vehicles (6) increasing to 10
  • Manage US/EU freights , external hauliers
  • CPC required - go out and get more vehicles, Goal would be to bring in house as much as possible
What you will need to succeed in this Transport Manager role
  • Level 3 CPC
  • Full UK Drivers licence
  • Thorough understanding of transport, management requirements and dynamics
  • Understanding of legal requirements in respect to Drivers hours
  • Transport management and customer/supplier relationship management
  • Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business
  • Experience within a fast pace, multi-drop logistics environment is preferable
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to fully understand budget and financial targets
  • Ability to present to Senior Leaders / Stakeholders within the business and to external customers / suppliers
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisation and communication skills
  • Must be computer Literate using ERP and Microsoft applications
  • Awareness of Transport and Health and Safety Legislation
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Experience within a FMCG environment is highly desirable but not entirely necessary
