We are currently partnering with a leading facilities and corporate real estate management company to recruit an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join their team in Bridgend. This role involves the planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs of various air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with task schedules and industry best practices.
  • Identify defects, report to site contact, and provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
  • Carry out reactive repairs as directed by the administration team.
  • Complete refrigeration usage sheets for all gas used.
  • Accurately complete OP6 & OP6A log sheets.
  • Ensure refrigerants are transported and handled in compliance with current Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times while representing the company.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Requirements:

  • Good basic education, with proficiency in written and spoken English and basic mathematical skills.
  • Formal training in refrigeration maintenance.
  • F-Gas Level 1 certification is required.
  • Certification in Safe Refrigerant Handling.
  • Formal electrical qualifications (City & Guilds) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in maintaining Split Air Conditioning units.
  • Experience working with Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems.
  • Experience with large chiller units.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Centrifugal Chillers.
  • Familiarity with general Building Management Systems (BMS).

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions when required.
  • Physically fit, capable of carrying tools and components (up to 20kg) and working at heights.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
