Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a growing independent service provider across wind and solar assets to recruit an experienced Electrical Wind Turbine Technician to provide O&M services to their clients in the UK.

The Electrical Wind Turbine Technician role comes with a salary of up to 45,000, company vehicle, uncapped overtime with enhanced rates, overnight allowances for staying away, and opportunities to work on solar projects.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:

  • Perform operations, maintenance, and inspection activities on onshore multi-brand turbines, including routine checks, preventive maintenance, and servicing to ensure optimal and safe turbine performance.
  • Monitor and ensure safe and efficient operation across assets, adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations while resolving operational issues that may impact efficiency or safety.
  • Carry out fault-finding on complex systems, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems to identify and resolve issues, using technical expertise and diagnostic tools.
  • Travel across the UK to conduct maintenance and operational activities on customer assets, which may involve overnight stays or working in remote locations to meet deadlines and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects, managing schedules, coordinating with customers or project managers, and overseeing the work of subcontractors or team members to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality completion.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent, ensuring the ability to safely work with electrical systems in the wind turbine sector.
  • Demonstratable experience in operations and maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines, especially Enercon, Nordex, and direct-drive systems
  • Specialised knowledge in fault-finding, maintenance, and repair on Wind Turbines.
  • Hold a valid full UK driving license for travel across the UK to perform maintenance and operational tasks at wind turbine sites.



Personal skills

The Electrical Technical role would suit someone who is:

  • Comfortable with varying schedules that may include overnight stays or longer assignments, and able to adapt to the demands of different locations and customer needs.
  • Able to work at significant heights, often at the top of wind turbines, where tasks may include inspections, repairs, and maintenance of high-level components.
  • Willing to travel frequently to various wind turbine sites across the UK and potentially throughout Europe
