A great new opportunity with a global business - my client are currently looking to recruit a Materials Planner. Within this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, supply planning, and demand forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Materials Planner position and have vast knowledge of supply chain management and lean manufacturing principles.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring inventory levels of materials and finished goods to ensure stock levels are updated, using ERP systems to do so.
  • Completing regular material inventories to aid demand forecasting.
  • Liaison with suppliers to retain long-lasting relationships to meet the demands of materials procurement.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles and decrease costs where possible.
  • Manage supply chain risks and devise contingency plans to mitigate material and supply chain-related risks.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within a Material Planner position.
  • Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
  • A strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen, JIT).
