Randstad are looking for a placements coordinator to work with the local council. Your will need to identify, commission, monitor and review placements for children and young people, contribute to and work towards meeting the objectives of the Directorate and Divisional business plans. As well as, providing supervision to some team members and taking a lead role in ensuring that Placements provided are of a high standard and are able to meet the needs of the children and young people.

Pay: £21.47

Location: Bridgend

Hours: 37 hours

Responsibilities:

  • Join multi-agency placement panels to advance placement searches and fulfil tasks per the 2007 regulations "Towards a Stable Life and Brighter Future."
  • Commission, monitor, and review placements, ensuring contracts meet internal and external standards for value.
  • Contribute to service development by:a. Maintaining the placement database. b. Conducting pre-service checks with providers. c. Negotiating additional services and monitoring authorisations. d. Validating and overseeing invoices. e. Creating guidance for practitioners. f. Assisting social workers with outcome-focused placement tenders.
  • Provide consultancy based on expertise to enhance service delivery, standards, and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a related field, or relevant experience, with a commitment to pursuing a management qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of current Social Services legislation, including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Social Services and Well-Being Act (Wales) 2014, and Local Authority Fostering Service Wales regulations 2018.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and young people per Wales Safeguarding Procedures and the Social Services and Well-Being Act (Wales) 2014.
  • Familiarity with the 2007 regulations and guidance "Towards a Stable Life and a Brighter Future."
  • Experience in commissioning and monitoring contracts.
