Prospero Teaching are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant and SEN specialist to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and SEMH needs. You will be working in a school and supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons.

  • Hours 8:30 am 3.30pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a UK school or with children of a similar age
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

You must have:- Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous- The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles- Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students- Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development
