What you will be doing as the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Acting as a first response to all equipment breakdowns on shift.
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults and ensuring all information is recorded for analysis
- Assisting in the delivery of a robust and successful planned maintenance system
- Provide a thorough and detailed handover of any breakdowns to the relieving shift when breakdown spans shift changeover
- Consulting senior engineers and managers for guidance and assistance during extended breakdowns.
- Issuing permits for site authorisation to work.
- Overhauling equipment in the workshop
- Assisting with changeovers of equipment where necessary
- Contributing to upgrade and improvement projects as needed
What you will need
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- A time served mechanical apprenticeship.
- Some basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial.
- Experience with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, FMCG packaging equipment, rotating equipment, etc.
- Ability to use workshop equipment.
- Experience with PLC-driven and automated equipment is desirable.
What you will receive
A salary of £42,000-£45,000 (inclusive of shift allowance - dependent on experience) + pension, (matched up to 6%), Private Medical, etc.
There will be scope for the salary to move up to £49,000 within circa 12 months of joining once some onsite training and development has been achieved.
The working hours
You will work a rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days - 7am-7pm, 2 nights - 7pm-7am, 4 rest days) with an 18 day break every 7 rotations.
