I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading housing association for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team. This role will provide essential business support, ensuring financial control and effective decision-making across a dedicated portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and guide regional teams, finance officers, and local branches in their financial management responsibilities.
  • Assist senior leadership with financial oversight and decision-making.
  • Work with teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Conduct financial monitoring visits as needed based on risk levels and support requirements.
  • Track budgets, investigate variances, and escalate concerns to senior finance leads.
  • Analyse and report on the financial performance of key revenue-generating activities.
  • Monitor allocated funding to ensure planned outcomes are achieved in collaboration with leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in management accounting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience explaining financial matters to non-finance personnel.
  • Proficiency in sophisticated accounting systems.
  • Part-qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant.
  • A flexible, customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
