Our client is a Leading Construction firm, they are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

The Internal Audit department conducts risk-based audits across our client's Group, including audits of individual business units every two years and company-wide audits of high-risk areas.

The role of the Internal Auditor, reporting to the Audit Manager, is to engage with the business to deliver the work of the Internal Audit department in a professional manner. The Internal Auditor will also act as a colleague with other members of the department.

You Will:

  • Prepare and execute audits, including participating and leading meetings, performing testing, evaluating evidence and writing up testing
  • Identify potential findings and agree their factual accuracy and potential impact with auditees
  • Formulate and agree action plans, including their importance and timeframes, with auditees
  • Follow up on the implementation of agreed actions
  • Facilitate business unit risk reviews

About You:

  • The candidate will be working in Internal Audit or for a firm of accountants
  • Knowledge of the construction sector is beneficial, but not a requirement
  • The candidate will be part-qualified in a relevant accountancy or internal auditing qualification
  • The candidate will be able to produce high quality work and will work well as part of a team both remotely and in-person
  • Their written outputs will be of a high standard
  • The role will involve communication at all levels of the Group so well-developed interpersonal skills are required
  • Effective time management and planning
  • The candidate will be very analytical and have an inquisitive nature
