We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Director to lead and manage the sales function within the UK market. Description

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue growth, market share expansion, and innovation in the industrial parts sector.
  • Identify emerging market trends, new technologies, and customer pain points to create innovative sales solutions and differentiated value propositions.
  • Continuously evaluate the competitive landscape and adjust strategies to stay ahead of industry trends, technological advancements, and customer demands.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Champion a culture of innovation within the sales team, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of new ways to engage customers and solve their problems and improve customer service.
  • Collaborate with, operations, and marketing teams to ensure customer feedback and industry trends are incorporated into new product offerings and sales approaches.
  • Lead the development of innovative sales campaigns, pricing models, and customer engagement strategies that differentiate the company in a competitive market.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Set clear sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics, and regularly track progress to ensure targets are met.

Key Account Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and strategic customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for innovative solutions, upselling, and cross-selling to maximise revenue from existing clients.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring terms and conditions align with company goals and customer needs.

Business Development:

  • Build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities by proactively reaching out to potential clients in target industries, leveraging innovative sales techniques and digital tools.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand the company's presence and stay at the forefront of market developments.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to create tailored proposals and innovative solutions for prospective clients.

Market Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Stay informed on industry developments, technological advancements, competitor activity, and emerging trends in the industrial parts market.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and analysis to the senior leadership team, highlighting key successes, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Leverage data and insights to drive innovative decision-making and improve customer satisfaction.

Budget & P&L Management:

  • Oversee the sales department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve revenue targets.
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment, inventory management, and timely delivery of products to customers.

Profile

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior "field sales" leadership role, ideally within the industrial parts, manufacturing, or supply chain sector.
  • Strong understanding of the UK industrial market, including key customer segments and competitor landscape.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue, growth, and innovation.
  • A track record of fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within sales teams and customer-facing initiatives.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a sales team, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using CRM and sales management software.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high level of self-motivation and drive.
  • A strategic mindset, combined with a practical, hands-on approach to execution.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as needed.

Desirable Skills:

  • A background in selling technical or complex industrial products and solutions.
