As a Production Operator you will ensure the safe production of all aluminium slabs in the Casthouse, conforming to the correct sizes and following the scheduled requirements from the Planning Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the different formats and purities of scrap to load into furnaces to provide the correct specification of molten aluminium required.
  • Follow the ODS’s to provide sufficient, clean, specified molten metal ready for casting the sizes of slabs in accordance with the schedule.
  • Check identification and dimensions of slab to the required length conforming to the slab identification.
  • Accurately record data on Computer system and production sheets
  • Participate with maintenance to improve machine reliability.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized to a 6s standard.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the production environment and ability to work to targets and deadlines.
  • Advise on all downtime issues and requirements needed to ensure efficient production.
  • Have a technical aptitude and be customer focused.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and show initiative and a positive attitude.

Working hours:               2x 6am to 6pm then 2x 6pm to 6am   

Working pattern:            4 on 4 off
