Location: Midlands 

Salary: From £25,000 | Hours: 36.25/week | Start: ASAP

I am seeking seeking a motivated Polymer Chemist to join a fantastic team in a Polymer Additives Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically sound chemist ready to grow into a specialist in rubber technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize novel rubber accelerators and develop polymer compounds for diverse applications.

  • Conduct lab research, testing, and analysis to support product development, production, and quality control.

  • Perform analytical and physical testing of rubber materials; interpret results and report findings.

  • Evaluate new raw materials and assist with process optimization.

  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and laboratory protocols.

Training & Development:

  • Rubber industry experience not required—training provided, including Diploma in Rubber Technology & Science.

  • Progression to Senior Polymer Chemist with expertise in regulations, compounding, vulcanization, and industry standards.

  • Future opportunities to represent Robac globally, publish technical papers, and support strategic growth.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Elastomer Technology.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a technically evolving environment.
