Sales Account Manager - haircare - field based covering Lincolnshire, Nottingham, Derby, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Leicestershire.

Our client, a prestigious brand within the hair and beauty industry, is seeking a proactive and experienced Sales Account Manager to join their expanding team. This position, requires a professional with a proven track record in sales, particularly within the hair and beauty sector, who understands the importance of building lasting relationships with salon owners.

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing a defined territory, focusing on building trust and strong business relationships with clients. This role is not about the hard sell but about becoming the trusted partner of their clients, understanding their needs and helping them achieve business growth through high-quality beauty products. You'll follow a structured journey plan, visiting customers to manage the commercial side of the relationship, while also providing practical support where needed.

With 85% of your time spent on the road visiting customers, you'll need to be highly organised, self-motivated, and have at least 5 years’ proven experience in a similar sales role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, aiming to understand customers not just sell to them.
  • Work to a structured journey plan, visiting a high number of customers per day across existing and potential new accounts.
  • Manage both the commercial and operational sides of the account, providing practical support where beneficial.
  • Generate leads and identify new business opportunities within the industry.
  • Maintain existing accounts, ensuring consistent growth and support for customers.
  • Follow up on all leads with customer visits, ensuring new accounts are opened with initial orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including the Education Team, to ensure customers receive the training and support they need.
  • Represent the brand at industry events and trade shows, building a strong presence in the market.

About You:

  • Must have experience selling direct to salons
  • Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience ideally within the hair and beauty industry.
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to speak to and consult with customers, not just focus on selling.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing accounts.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience in following a journey plan.
  • Ability to manage the commercial aspects of accounts while also being willing to provide practical support where needed.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other sales tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across your region.
