We are currently working with a Local Authority who are looking for a Lead Engagement Manager to assist them for an initial 8-Months.

Lead Engagement Manager

Start: ASAP

Rate: £650 Inside IR35

Duration: 8 Months initially

Working Arrangement: Hybrid based in the Midlands

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to effectively communicate with key stakeholders including councillors, train operating companies, the Mayor's Office, and the Department for Transport (DfT)
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment of communication strategies and objectives
  • Craft and execute communication plans that meet the needs of our stakeholders, supporting and enhancing the authority’s role
  • Lead the development of messaging and content that supports the authorities objectives and enhances reputation
  • Foster relationships with communications staff in partner organisations
  • Coordinate or support joint initiatives and ensure consistent messaging and collaboration across different platforms and audiences
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, adjusting as necessary to improve outcomes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior communications role, with a focus on stakeholder engagement in a complex political or technical environment
  • Knowledge of the economic and business landscape of the West Midlands is important
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that drive engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with or within government, transport, or related sectors is highly desirable
