Hybrid Working – West Midlands

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical intervention project focused on Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) within the West Midlands.

This role will require a strong background in managing complex projects involving local councils, with specific experience in addressing issues related to areas such as policing, modern slavery, and environmental concerns.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with local authorities and handling sensitive topics, such as housing regulation, tenant safety, and crime prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HMO Interventions project, working closely with local councils, law enforcement, and external agencies to address issues related to housing, modern slavery, and environmental standards
  • Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, including council departments, police, and community organisations, ensuring seamless collaboration and project execution
  • Oversee the development and implementation of intervention strategies to tackle illegal HMO practices, tenant exploitation, and substandard living conditions
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations and legal standards related to environmental health and safety
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Deliver detailed project reports, highlighting outcomes, challenges, and future recommendations
  • Potential to attend Police Raids

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project management within local councils or public sector, particularly in areas such as housing, environmental health, policing, or modern slavery interventions
  • Strong knowledge of HMO regulations and housing standards in the UK
  • Experience collaborating with police forces, environmental agencies, and community groups to tackle housing-related issues
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A DBS check may be required for this role due to the nature of the work
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with some on-site presence in the West Midlands area as you may be required to attend Police Raids
