Department: Estates & FacilitiesLocation: West Midlands Salary Grade: £49,250 - £56,921 per annum

Role Purpose:

The role involves electrical systems design, maintenance, and management across the organisation’s estate. It includes overseeing compliance, supervising staff/contractors, and contributing to long-term maintenance and sustainability plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on electrical engineering for design, build, and maintenance projects. Manage infrastructure like HVAC systems, lighting, fire systems, and CCTV.
  • Project Management: Oversee the electrical element of projects from inception to handover, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Prepare reports and manage budgets.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Supervise maintenance contractors, ensure operational efficiency, and handle emergency repairs.
  • Policy Development: Lead initiatives to improve sustainability and compliance. Author electrical health and safety documentation.
  • Staff Management: Upkeep training and rain and management of a team, conduct performance appraisals, and deliver toolbox talks.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety regulations, perform risk assessments, and maintain a compliant estate.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Degree, HND, or equivalent in building services engineering.
  • Experience: Extensive expertise in electrical design, consultancy, and project management. Experience with BIM, BMS, and building systems is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong IT proficiency, excellent communication, and organisational abilities.
