We are working with a Local Authority Council who need a Cyber Security Lead who will oversee a team which includes a Cyber Security Manager, 3 Cyber Security Analysts and someone working in identity and access support.

Start: ASAP

Rate: Inside IR35

Hybrid Working Arrangement: Onsite presence occasional when required

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the cybersecurity team and strategy
  • Implement and maintain cutting-edge security solutions
  • Monitor and respond to threats in real time
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Educate teams on best security practices and drive a security-first culture

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a Public Sector Setting preferably Local Government
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity leadership
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, SIEM, threat detection, and incident response
  • Ability to communicate complex security issues to technical & non-technical stakeholders
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent)
