A broad Divisional Finance Director opportunity, based in the West Midlands, with responsibility for an international division of a large, global manufacturing group.

They have ambitious growth plans and under new management of a significant Investment Group, there is a strong commitment to invest and ensure they remain at the forefront of their industry. They have a clear strategy to accelerate growth which will involve an active acquisition strategy.

The Role

The Divisional Finance Director role will be based in the West Midlands. You will be a strategic business partner to the Senior Vice President - Europe and Asia to drive the growth of the Europe and Asia division.

The focus of the role is to lead and develop a high-quality finance function. Key to this will be improving MI and reporting, the efficiency of key processes and partnering with the business to ensure an understanding of performance and areas of improvement.

You will need to be technically capable and ensure there is a strong financial control environment. You will be responsible for the overall finance direction, reporting, control framework , risk management and governance.

Responsible for leading the finance teams at each manufacturing facility, you will be attending the site business unit reviews and presenting back to Group on divisional performance.

You will also be expected to play a key role in the growth of the division, this will require involvement with M&A and post-acquisition integration.

There will be the opportunity to effect real change and to contribute to the direction of the division.

Candidate Profile

For this Divisional Finance Director opportunity, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA, CIMA) from a manufacturing/industrial background with experience of leading a finance function, in an international business and to have operated at multi-site/divisional level.

The role requires a Divisional Finance Director who has the strength of character to challenge whilst being able to so in a collegiate and considered manner. It is also important that you are comfortable leading change, capable of influencing at all levels and understand what a best-in-class finance function looks like.

The role requires a well-rounded finance leader, who is both commercially and operationally focused and technically competent. You will also need to demonstrate a good balance of strategic vision and a hands-on operating style.

The role is based in the West Midlands. Our client has a hybrid working pattern, with the expectation that you will be in the office for a minimum of 3-days per week and with quarterly overseas trips likely.
