They have a clear and exciting opportunity to further grow the business across existing market sectors and continue to look at expansion into adjacent sectors and service lines. The scale of the opportunities ahead has prompted the move to bring previously autonomous business units under one brand and leadership framework, to maximise growth.
As a key part of the Leadership Team, there is the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of this newly formed group and with further progression available across the wider PLC business, which has a real focus on career and talent development.
THE ROLE
This is a high-profile Finance Director (FD) opportunity in the West Midlands. Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD) the FD of this newly formed group is a crucial strategic and operational role at the heart of the business. Working closely with the MD and the rest of the Leadership Team, the FD will assume full responsibility for all aspects of the company.
This role involves managing all financial activities, including financial reporting, financial planning, and risk management & compliance, to ensure the company's financial health and sustainability.
The FD will offer strategic financial insights to aid decision making and foster the company's growth objectives. The position will be crucial in unifying previously independent business units under a single brand and leadership framework.
You will also lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
For this FD opportunity in the West Midlands, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and experience in a contracting services business is essential. You must also have had end-to-end operational finance responsibility.
The role requires an experienced FD who has the strength of character to challenge whilst being able to do so in a collegiate and considered manner. It is also important that you are comfortable leading change, capable of influencing at all levels and understand what a best-in-class finance function looks like.
You will need to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and the ability to contribute to strategic discussions and support the long-term growth potential.
A successful track record in establishing high performing finance teams will also be important and the ability to manage complex and diverse environments, whilst still promoting a culture of continuous improvement. A commitment to personal growth and development, personally and for colleagues will also be crucial.
