My large client is currently looking for a Conduct Risk SME to lead day to day integration of Conduct Risk, FCA regulatory risk and Consumer Duty activity. This role will involve supporting a range of review activities across key artefacts to identify opportunities for alignment and consistency and proposing, as well as designing/implementing, any key changes required to align so that the combined Group can appropriately manage and oversee its FCA regulatory obligations and ensure good customer outcomes, in line with industry good practice and regulatory expectations.

Some of your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • My client's framework (including associated and dependent policies and standards) to managing Conduct/Regulatory Risk and Consumer Duty.
  • The Regulatory Risk Assessment methodologies to ensure my client has a clear view of risks across all products and services, including understanding foreseeable harm against customer journeys
  • Review my client's Assurance framework and methodologies to ensure Compliance Monitoring activity approach and coverage is robust, risk focussed, and provides appropriate levels of oversight in line with Second Line roles and responsibilities.
  • Review the MI and Governance to support the creation of a Group Regulatory and Conduct Governance.

If you have previous experience of drafting policies and standards and have:

  • Extensive FCA regulation and Conduct Risk experience across Retail Banks
  • Extensive experience working in both advisory and assurance arms of compliance activity within the 2nd line of defence.
  • Good knowledge of industry good practice regarding Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty, and industry good practice.
  • Experience of Conduct Risk and Regulatory Risk Assessment and Assurance methodologies and frameworks (including Outcome Testing)
  • Strong technical knowledge of key regulatory and conduct risks, and relevant FCA sourcebooks, regarding (but not limited to) Mortgages, Unsecured Lending (Loans and Credit Cards), Current Accounts, Savings and Deposits, Commercial Lending and BTL, Complaint Handling as well as broader FCA Control and Governance expectations such as SYSC Handbook and SMCR.
