The Refugee Employability Programme is an established service, to support refugees arriving in England to access the tools they need to become fully independent and provide for themselves and their families.
We are looking for English Language Trainers to deliver effective and stimulating training programmes to support learners in their integration and employability journey.
Following recommendations in learners Individual Needs Assessment, work through a journey of training to raise the learner’s ability to Entry Grade English.
To work closely with the extended Operational team to identify areas of progress or challenges and customise the delivery to meet the individual needs of the learner.
- Review and understand the Needs Assessment of new Learners in order to deliver the correct training path required.
- Use predesigned pathways and training resources to deliver English Language Training in both one to one and group-based settings, allowing learners to develop the skills to integrate into community and workplaces.
- Monitor the training progress and review the time to completion of learners to ensure that the training plans are having a positive impact on the outcome.
- Record progress in accordance with procedures and participate in any observations or record checking as required by internal or external inspections.
- Participate in Internal Forums to share best practises and resources. Share your findings on rolling out training to specific demographics to ensure that appropriate updates in training material can be considered.
- Be aware of challenges faced with the Learners in respect to Safeguarding as well as integration concerns. Use channels of reporting as set out in the Safeguarding Policy.
- Comply with Maximus Values and Policy & Procedures.
The role will be covering local community hubs across Birmingham, Warwickshire including Coventry, Tamworth, Worcestershire and Great Malvern, therefore need to be a driver and have the flexibility to deliver to the customers they support. Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Teaching or Coaching qualification e.g., Diploma, Certificate in Education at least at level 3.
- Teaching qualification in ESOL, e.g CELTA or TESOL
- Experience in Skills/Education Sector.
- Experienced in delivering learning curriculum face to face in group or one to one sessions.
- Experience of working with learners that do not have English as their first language.
- Experience of different technologies to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Experience of adapting your style and approach to deliver to learners who may have experienced trauma or transitional challenges.

- Agile in personal approach and able to operate independently or part of the wider training team.

- Lived or previous experience of working with Refugees.
- Experience of working with different customer journeys including employed and non-employed learners within one contract, resulting in the same outcome
