The main purpose of the Firearms Licensing Enquiry Officer is to conduct enquiries and make recommendations about applicants’ suitability to possess firearms, ammunition and/or explosives, in accordance with relevant legislation, Home Office guidelines and Force Policy as well as conducting enquiries for the grant or renewal of dealer certificates and registration, and inspections of dealers, clubs and ranges.
