Locum Planning and Litigation Lawyer – Midlands-Based Local Authority – Up to £60 per hour

Location: Remote working, with attendance at Planning and Licensing Committees (typically twice a month, mornings).Duration: 6–12 months (maternity cover).Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella), depending on experience.

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is delighted to be recruiting for a Locum Planning and Litigation Lawyer to join a highly regarded Midlands-based Local Authority. This is an exciting maternity cover role offering a blend of flexibility and engagement with high-profile local authority matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing general planning advice, including drafting and negotiating s.106 agreements.
  • Managing planning enforcement matters.
  • Handling a range of taxi and alcohol licensing cases.
  • Attending licensing and planning committees as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in planning, licensing, and enforcement law.
  • Proven ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to local authorities.
  • Strong committee attendance and procedural skills.
