Description

To develop, implement, and maintain robust risk management frameworks and controls across the organisation, ensuring proactive risk identification, mitigation, and regulatory compliance to safeguard the organisation's assets, reputation, and operational continuity.

Risk Management Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks effectively across all functions.

Risk Assessment & Controls: Conduct regular risk assessments and support the Finance and Operations functions with enhanced risk controls, focusing on continual improvement.

Process Documentation: Establish, maintain, and continuously improve process maps and a key risk controls matrix.

Policy Ownership: Own the risk and control framework, ensuring alignment with best practices and coaching Finance and Operations teams on compliance.

Regulatory Compliance: Maintain awareness of regulatory responsibilities and adhere to CQC/GDP/NMC/GPHC/ICO standards as relevant to the role.

Risk Reporting: Prepare, update, and maintain a dashboard reflecting the status of identified risks, controls, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Audit Preparation: Support the preparation of the annual external audit by ensuring accurate and timely risk management documentation.

Cross-functional Partnership: Build quality partnerships with business units and improve cross-functional communication to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk mitigation.

Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements through the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) process, fostering a continuous improvement mindset within the team.

Profile

A successful 'Senior Risk Manager' should have:

  • Professional Qualifications: Risk, Audit, or Accounting Qualifications
  • Experience: Significant experience in a risk management or internal audit role, ideally within a fast-paced environment. Our client will consider candidates from all sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in risk management frameworks, financial controls, and management accounting.
