As the Applications Manager, you will lead a team of Engineers and Analysts to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and improvement of our applications and systems. You will play a key role in aligning support services with business needs, driving efficiency, and fostering collaboration across stakeholders. This role is critical to achieving our mission, ensuring our technology supports high-quality care delivery.

You will take ownership of IT service responsibilities related to applications and systems, leveraging your experience to influence and collaborate with internal teams and the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 Applications Engineers & Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Oversee daily operational support for all applications and systems, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and requests in alignment with KPIs.
  • Monitor system performance and stability, implementing improvements to enhance reliability across the application estate.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met to a high standard, with documentation and knowledge shared across teams.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities such as updates, changes, upgrades, and patches, maintaining system road maps to track progress.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for application-related issues, queries, and escalations, collaborating with IT, Data & Analytics, and Practices teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices across application support and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Produce regular reports on team performance, system status, and risks.

Person Specification

ExperienceEssential:

  • Experience managing a support team, preferably focused on applications or systems.
  • Background in technical support roles with expertise in application management.
  • Proven experience in IT service functions and managing team workloads.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a history of working within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and managing enterprise applications.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to working in a global or multinational organisation.

KnowledgeEssential:

  • In-depth understanding of digital technologies, including automation, systems, and AI.
  • Knowledge of change management frameworks and tools.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of emerging digital technologies and trends.

QualificationsEssential:

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, or Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Relevant technical certifications.
