LOCUM Contracts Lawyer - West Midlands

Rate: £60-65 per hour

Contract: 3 months

A progressive, dynamic local authority based in the West Midlands are seeking a Contracts Solicitor/Lawyer to join their legal team to play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services.

The Role

As a Contracts Solicitor/Lawyer, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support on public procurement and commercial contracts.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support Principal Lawyers on complex contracts, procurement matters, and high-level projects.
  • Handle contract disputes and risk management for the Council.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
About You

We are looking for a qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives - FCILEx) with at least three years' post-qualification experience in Local Authority or public sector contracts and procurement law.
