Job Description:

The Microsoft Business Central Warehouse and Distribution Project Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central within warehouse and distribution operations. The role involves managing ERP projects, focusing on the warehouse management, inventory control, and distribution processes, ensuring smooth integration of these functionalities into the broader business operations. The Project Manager works closely with stakeholders, supply chain teams, and technical experts to deliver solutions on time, within scope, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Warehouse/Distribution Focus:

Define the scope, deliverables, and timeline for projects focused on warehouse management and distribution modules within Microsoft Business Central.

Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain teams to identify key business requirements for inventory management, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure timely and successful delivery.

Warehouse & Distribution Module Implementation:

Lead the configuration and customization of the warehouse and distribution modules, including inventory management, pick/pack/ship processes, barcode scanning, bin management, and order management.

Ensure seamless integration with other Business Central modules like sales, purchasing, and finance.

Oversee data migration of inventory records, warehouse transactions, and other relevant data.

Manage warehouse automation tools and third-party integrations, such as barcode scanners, shipping software, and transport management systems (TMS).

Stakeholder & Team Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders within the warehouse and logistics departments.

Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and third-party consultants to ensure system integration and functionality meets business needs.

Maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, timelines, and any potential issues.

Risk & Issue Management:

Identify and mitigate risks related to warehouse and distribution operations, including supply chain disruptions, inventory inaccuracies, and shipping delays.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements in warehouse and distribution processes.

Develop and manage contingency plans for potential disruptions in the project timeline or resource availability.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

Lead testing eSorts for warehouse and distribution functionalities, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and end-to-end process validation.

Ensure accuracy and eSiciency in key operations such as inventory reconciliation, picking and packing, and shipment tracking.

Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure all operational processes are optimized and fully functional within Business Central.

Training & Go-Live Support:

Develop and execute a training plan for warehouse and logistics teams, ensuring that all end-users are proficient in using Business Central’s warehouse and distribution modules.

Oversee go-live activities, providing hands-on support during the transition to the new system and ensuring smooth operations post-implementation.

Provide post-go-live support and troubleshoot any issues related to warehouse and distribution functionalities.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization:

Monitor the performance of the warehouse and distribution modules after implementation to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Recommend system enhancements or process changes to increase eSiciency, reduce errors, and streamline distribution operations.

Stay updated on best practices in warehouse management, inventory control, and distribution to enhance business performance.

Key Qualifications:

ERP & Warehouse/Distribution Expertise:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, particularly in the warehouse and distribution modules, including inventory management, bin tracking, picking, packing, and shipping.

Proven experience in managing full-cycle ERP implementations focused on warehouse management and distribution operations.

Deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, and shipping processes.

Project Management Skills:

Strong project management experience, preferably with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Proven ability to work eSectively with cross-functional teams including IT, warehouse, and logistics teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.

Experience with third-party integrations such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS), or barcode scanning systems.

Familiarity with advanced warehouse automation technologies, such as RFID, robotics, or conveyor systems.

Education & Experience:

5+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in warehouse management or distribution ERP implementations.

3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system, focusing on warehouse and distribution processes.

Working Conditions:

Ability to travel to warehouse locations as required for implementation, training, and support.
