Gleeson Logistics are exclusively partnering with a Chemicals/Blending business based in the West Midlands, in their search search for a Site Operations Manager.

This role will be responsible for Production, Logistics, Customer Services, Maintenance, Purchasing and Engineering Teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a site within a similar sector or within FMCG, construction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Operations capability and lead maximum customer satisfaction at optimised profitability and minimised operating costs.
  • Pro-actively co-ordinate business activities and priorities with the sales and marketing manager
  • Ensure that customer orders are delivered in full and on time in line with agreed performance standards
  • Champion and drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives daily throughout the operations
  • Ensure that production processes are optimised and efficiencies maximised through application of modern manufacturing techniques
  • Pro-actively identify and remove all types of waste from the operation
  • Manage identified business improvement, engineering and capital expenditure project within the agreed remit and budget
  • Manage the Supply Chain and Logistics activities to minimise business risk including continuity of Supply, identification of alternative materials, proactive supplier management
  • In conjunction with the compliance manager, manage safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment ideally Chemical, Oils, Blending or FMCG
  • World Class Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement implementation
  • Experience leading teams and managing P&L
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
