It focuses on mental health, physical health, and learning disabilities, offering community-based, inpatient, and specialist care to enhance well-being and recovery.

Job Overview:We have an opportunity for a Band 5 OT to join us working in physical health teams in the Midlands. We are looking for individuals with a professional approach, good communication and problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude toward multidisciplinary team working and person-centered care. The trust provides mental health, learning disability, and community health services in the Midlands. It was established to offer a range of services to both adults and children, focusing on delivering care closer to home.

The rotation includes 9 months on sub-acute physical health rehabilitation wards at the Evington Centre and 9 months with our Home First and Community Therapy Service. There are plans to expand the rotation to include other areas in the future.

Role Responsibilities:These posts provide an opportunity to gain various clinical skills in physical and community settings. In the inpatient setting, you will support the discharge of patients and improve outcomes through the application of your occupational therapy skills and knowledge. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and join established, supportive teams of Occupational Therapists.

In the community setting, you will provide a professional OT service, manage a caseload, and work under the supervision of senior staff. You will apply the OT process within a multidisciplinary team and deliver services to patients in a variety of settings, requiring flexibility and adaptability in recognizing the complexity of these environments.

Requirements:

  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating a range of conditions
  • Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation and discharge plans
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with community-based pathways is advantageous
