We are seeking a motivated and experienced Yard Foreman to oversee our timber yard operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities in the yard, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Forklift Operation: Loading and unloading timber products using a forklift (FLT).
- Order Management: Handling and processing orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- General Yard Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organised yard, performing general maintenance tasks as needed.
- Job Review and Ordering: Reviewing job requirements and ordering necessary materials.
- Truck Coordination: Coordinating truck deliveries and ensuring efficient logistics.
- Office Orders: Managing office orders and ensuring proper documentation.
- General Maintenance: Performing general maintenance tasks around the yard.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the timber industry.
- Valid forklift (FLT) license.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime during busy periods, especially in the summer.
- Competitive pay rate of £13-£14 per hour.
