We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority, based in the Midlands are looking to appoint a Procurement Business Partner.

This will be a full-time temporary contract on a 3-month basis, with travel to the office required on a once per month basis and a daily rate of up to £400umbrella depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading, managing and influencing a procurement team and a sound understanding of public sector procurement.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing procurement support across the Council to ensure effective procurement activities
  • Planning and managing procurement activity for various Service Areas
  • Preparing tender and quotation documentation, managing the tender process, evaluating information, presenting findings and making recommendations
  • Producing clear and robust documentation in line with the Council’s policies and procedures
  • Providing high quality responsive procurement advice to officers at all levels, elected members and partner organisations so promoting the development of good procurement practice, maintaining thorough knowledge of procurement and other relevant legislation and share this with the organisation

Experience required:

  • Ability to manage the competitive tendering process
  • Comprehensive understanding of e-procurement and skills in using e-procurement platforms such as Intend or Pro-contracts

Working hours:

  • 5 days per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
