Reed Construction are excited to announce a fantastic job opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor / Employer’s Agent to join the expanding hotel and leisure team of a well established consultancy in Birmingham.

About You:

  • You will have relevant quantity surveying experience
  • Ideally from a leisure, hotel or retail background
  • You have either completed your APC or are on the path to completion.
  • You are self-motivated, possess your own transport, and are willing to travel nationwide to customer locations.
  • You have the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • You are ambitious and are wanting to progress your QS career through to Senior QS, Principal QS and then even Directorship

The Role:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver new build and refurbishment hotel and leisure projects, managing multiple projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, apply value management techniques.
  • Liaise with the Client and design team while monitoring progress on site.
  • Attend site meetings, answer queries, issue variations, cost reporting and ensure compliance of the Client’s requirements.
  • Place and coordinate FF&E orders.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow.
  • Ensure that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that Final Accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Coordinate a successful and timely Practical Completion.
