Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Regional Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Manager to provide a range of specialist abuse support services to women, men and children across the Black Country.

A holistic, trauma-informed support enables victims to escape violence and abuse, cope with trauma and build resilience.

This is a permanent contract, working 37.5 hours a week on a salary of between £34,946 - £39,863 (dependent on experience)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To manage the service and staff to provide a high-quality front-line service to victims of domestic violence; delivering a premium service to those at highest risk, including management of own caseload.
  • Initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic violence.
  • Provide leadership to the local domestic abuse strategy.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on developing areas of the service.
  • This is a challenging role that requires attention to detail on systems and processes associated with the management and support of victims of violence and abuse, excellent interpersonal skills, focus on and commitment to exploring the experience of victims.

Person Specification

  • Managerial or supervisory experience
  • Experience of developing and training
  • Experience of formal written work e.g. reports, evaluations, analysis.
  • Experience of presenting information in front of an audience/partners/staff
  • Experience working in a busy office environment with competing demands and being able to prioritise and organise workloads
  • Experience of working/liaising with a multiagency setting with a range of stakeholders and representing clients/organisation and external meetings
  • Experience of influencing/creating a positive culture for staff conducive to productive and effective working
  • Experience of direct work with adults and/or children, understanding risk including escalation, development of support plans
  • Experience of taking referrals for services, gathering information regarding the victim and their circumstances, assessing the information, agreeing needs and identifying risk, understanding the right service to refer on to
  • Experience of safeguarding risks and reporting, relevant legislative frameworks and standards and knowing how to apply them
  • Experience of managing complex casework, including issues such as child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, working with trauma in adults and children and crisis intervention
  • Qualification or training equivalent to minimum level 3 education standard in a relevant topic such as health and social care/independent domestic abuse advocate.
