Your new companyThis is an exciting time to join Sandwell MBC Adult Social Care as they are currently restructuring their community social work teams to create town teams and a separate YAT/Transitions Team for Sandwell adults.
Your new roleSandwell MBC are looking to recruit an additional x 5 full-time (37 hrs) agency Social Worker into our YAT/Transitions Team to bring it to full capacity until permanent staff are recruited to the team.Sandwell MBC are looking for 5 committed and hardworking qualified Social Workers with Adult Social Work experience. You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS. You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults with Learning Disabilities/Autism and also have some knowledge around physical disability, people with profound & complex needs, carer's and the wider community. You will need to be confident in undertaking safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, carrying out outcome focused assessments, with support planning, to meet their care and support needs.You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes for our customers who have a learning disability/Autism.You will be given an induction, appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision with an experienced manager. You will be working in a friendly environment, with a skilled, diverse and supportive team.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful you will require, a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent). Current professional registration with Social Work England with minimum of 2 years experience working with adults in a QSW position, have good assessment skills and knowledge of safeguarding.
